I always thought that my Fried Spaghetti Recipe was the fastest pasta you could make. But ever since I started making this Garlic and Oil Pasta sauce, I realized that it is even faster to make (when you have leftover pasta).

And even without leftover pasta, if you have to first boil spaghetti, you can still make this dish pretty fast. As my family really likes this as a side dish, I have been making it pretty often, and it still doesn’t take much time at all! And if you are looking for a vegan main pasta dish, this one is perfect! Even if you forgot to make dinner, you can be enjoying this amazing Aglio e Olio Spaghetti in less than 30 minutes!

Here is what you need to make this amazing vegan pasta dish:

Pasta Pot for Cooking Pasta, if you don’t have leftover spaghetti on hand, use this pasta pot to boil your pasta. You want to boil pasta in a large pot, so that there is space for a lot of water, and pasta.

Stainless Steel Skillet, for frying your delicious pasta with olive oil and garlic.

Skillet Turners, for turning pasta on the pan, while the pasta is cooking.

What Ingredients Do You Need?

You need just 3 ingredients to make this extra delicious dish! These three ingredients are everything you need. Anything else is extra.

Pasta, you will need pasta. Any pasta will do, but we prefer the long pastas, such as spaghetti, fettuccine, bucatini or angel hair pasta.

Olive Oil, you will need some delicious olive oil to saute your pasta in.

Chopped Garlic, for the yummy flavor, you need to use lots of chopped garlic in this recipe.

You can add additional ingredients to this dish, for even more flavor:

How To Make Spaghetti Aglio e Olio

Here is the easiest recipe for making Garlic Olive Oil Pasta. For Aglio e Olio calories and cooking times, please see the recipe card below.

First, you will need to cook pasta, according to instructions on the package. If you are cooking pasta, make sure to save about half cup of the cooking liquid. If you are using leftover pasta to make this, simple make sure to have half a cup of hot, boiled water on hand.

Next, start by sauteing garlic. Once you saute it for a few minutes, add pasta to it.

Cook the pasta in oil, until it is hot. If you need to add some water, add it. Personally, I never do, as we prefer slightly dryer pasta. Turn off the heat and add other items, if you are using them — parsley, more olive oil, cooked shrimp, etc.

Ingredients

  • ½ lb Spaghetti or another long pasta, such as fetucchini
  • 4 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 4 Garlic Cloves minced
  • ¼ tsp Parsley optional

Instructions

  • Cook pasta by following instructions on the pasta package. If using leftover pasta, skip this step.
    When pasta is almost done, start by heating up Olive Oil in the skillet. Once the oil is hot, add the garlic and saute for 3-4 minutes.
  • Once pasta is cooked, drain it and reserve about half a cup of the water in which the pasta cooked.
    Add pasta to the skillet.
  • Continue cooking for a few minutes, all the while turning the pasta, so that it gets coated in olive oil and garlic. If the pasta is a bit dry, add a few tablespoons of pasta water, and mix again.
    Turn off the pasta, add parsley, if you using. Serve with Instant Pot Lamb Meatballs in Tomato Sauce and Rainbow Roasted Vegetables.
