Pro Tips
– Can you use a different meat in this recipe? As we are going for Thanksgiving flavors, another good meat to use in this recipe would be ground chicken.
– You can also use ground turkey breast in this recipe. Since ground turkey breast is leaner than ground turkey, you can add two chopped slices of bacon to the dish, for more flavor.
– Here are some ideas for seasoning ground turkey. Love Cajun food? Use Cajun seasoning instead of garlic powder for a delicious Cajun turkey!
– We love Italian spin on this dish with some Italian seasoning.
– For a completely different take, use Homemade Taco Seasoning or Fajita Seasoning. Skip cranberries and pecans, and add a chopped bell pepper at the same time as you add onions.
– Especially if you are using chicken, but you can also do this if you are using turkey — add Rotisserie Chicken Rub instead of garlic powder for an amazing flavor.
– Defrosting Ground Turkey. Do you want to make this delicious dinner, but only have frozen ground turkey? No problem, put the frozen turkey in the fridge overnight, so that it defrosts. Then, make this delicious recipe with it the next day.
