Cutting boards are used in so many recipes — from cutting meat for stews, to chopping vegetables for a salad, to cutting bread for French toast, a cutting board is needed for pretty much anything and everything you cook.

So, what do you look for, when you are looking for a cutting board? Here is what I am always looking for when looking for a cutting board:

– Is the cutting board made out of plastic? In my years of cooking, I have been using plastic cutting boards and liking them. They are easy to use, they are durable, they are dishwasher safe.

– Is the cutting board dishwasher safe? As much as I love to cooking, I do not like to wash dishes. I do have one tool that I definitely wash by hand. This one item is my cooking knife.

I think long and hard before I get any other cooking tool, if it is not dishwasher safe. So if I am using a cooking tool on a regular basis, a very important consideration is that it needs to be dishwasher safe.

So if you dislike washing dishes just like I do, make sure that your chopping board is dishwasher safe.

– Does the cutting board come in different sizes? As I mentioned in the blog post about cooking knives, I decided that a set of cooking knives was not what was needed, and I preferred single knives.

On the other hand, a set of cutting boards that come in different sizes is great! If you are cooking different dishes, you will want to use a large chopping board. On the other hand, if you are cutting a few slices of cheese, or if you need to chop some nuts for a salad, a small cutting board will do.

It is great to be able to choose the size of the cutting board to use.
