If you are looking for fresh fig recipes, here is another great and delicious salad, this time with black figs. I recently posted a recipe that uses fresh green figs, Green Fig Salad With Feta. Here is another great salad with figs – Fig Recipes: Fig Salad With Goat Cheese, Red Onions, Balsamic Vinaigrette.
The combination of figs with feta is great, and so is the combination of figs with goat cheese. Sweet figs with tangy goat cheese, fresh parsley and olive oil make a great salad with contrasting textures and flavors.
Cheese is great in many different salads, here are a few examples: Eggplant Salad With Feta, Onions and Dill, Watermelon and Feta Salad, Avocado, Goat Cheese and Tomato Salads, Pear Salad with Blue Cheese and Pecans.

That sounds delightful! I love cheese and fruit combinations. One of my favorite snacks in Italy was a hunk of crusty bread, some pecorino stagione, and a jar of jam. It was heaven.
This sounds lovely. Does it matter what kind of olive oil? Must it be extra-virgin? Are there types of olive oil that would be too heavy and overpower the figs?
Liz, yes, cheese and fruit combinations are great. Very simple and very tasty.
Julie, it doesn’t have to be extra virgin olive oil, use the one that you have.
