Want to make beef stir fry and looking for beef stir fry recipes? I like beef stir fry that I usually serve with plain white rice. Make a very simple steamed broccoli or a broccoli stir fry, or garlicky broccoli stir fry, and you’ve got a complete meal!
Since you are looking to serve this beef stir fry on top of rice, you want the stir fry to have some sauce that will flavor the rice and add more flavor to the beef as well. The sauce is really what will make your stir fry special and you can vary it any way you want.
But before the sauce, there are two things that you must do. First, you must slice your beef thinly and against the grain. There are a few reasons for doing this – fist, when you cut your beef into thin strips, it will marinate faster. Thin beef slices will also cook faster and look better in your stir fry.

How To Make Beef Stir Fry
Cut the beef into thin slices, making sure to cut against the grain.
Put the beef into a bowl, add the 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 teaspoon of corn starch for the marinade, mix and put it into the fridge to marinate, for about 30-40 minutes.
Make the sauce by combining all the sauce ingredients.
Make the corn starch mix by combining the corn starch mix ingredients.
Chop the garlic and onions on a cutting board. Grate the ginger. Cut the scallions into small pieces on a bias.
Heat up the oil in a saute pan. Dry the beef and add some of the beef without crowding it. If you can’t put all of your beef on the saute pan at once, do this in stages.
Cook for a few minutes, turn, cook for a few minutes on the other side. Remove beef to another pan. Repeat with remaining beef as needed.
Once you have cooked all of the beef, add a bit more oil to the saute pan and add onions to the pan. Cook for 5-8 minutes. Add garlic, ginger and a few pepper flakes. Cook for one minute, add the sauce and add the beef back. Bring to boil, reduce the heat and cook for 5-10 minutes, making sure that the beef is completely cooked through. Add the corn starch mix (the sauce will thicken), cook for 5 more minutes.
Turn off the heat and sprinkle with chopped scallions. Serve the beef stir fry over rice with broccoli stir fry on the side.
